The George Gruntz Jazz Band, a widely respected European-based jazz bands, was formed in 1972 by a group of friends and casual acquaintances. The original relaxed atmosphere is still evident today among a band that has toured all over the world. Gruntz’s arrangements draw on a wide range of musical sources – including classical and folk – to form a unique programme of contemporary jazz. The venue is the underused ‘Drama Theatre’ stuck in the rafters of the Grand Theatre.
